Powerful Partnerships: Green Acres Unites with STIHL for a Greener Future

In a groundbreaking move towards sustainability, Green Acres has teamed up with STIHL to spearhead a nationwide emissions reduction initiative. This partnership, merging New Zealand's premier home services franchise with the global leader in outdoor power equipment, aims to transition 181 Green Acres Lawn & Garden franchisees to STIHL's Cordless Range of battery-powered tools over the next three years.

Anticipated to slash carbon emissions by over 80 metric tonnes annually across the group, this initiative equates to the environmental impact of removing at least 25 Ford Rangers from the road each year for the next three years.

The goal? To enhance the safety, efficiency, and overall business performance of franchisees while curbing carbon emissions.

What this means for FBL's customers:

  • According to WorkSafe NZ, any tool which has a decibel rating above 85 decibels requires hearing protection. All STIHL’s current battery-powered tools are below this decibel rating. That means our contractors using STIHL battery-powered equipment are creating a quieter and more pleasant work environment for customers, and their neighbours.
  • Eco-Friendly Equipment: The target is to reduce carbon emissions by over 80 metric tonnes across the group per year.
  • STIHL’s battery-powered tools offer numerous health and safety benefits, including a weight reduction of up to over 40% for mowers and 30% for line trimmers, providing operators with better control and reducing fatigue, back issues, and bodily stresses.
